What is a “Podcast”?
In a nutshell, podcasting is the relatively new phenomenon of publishing media files--usually MP3s--so that they are available for download to anybody who subscribes to them. A typical podcast is a recorded show that you can listen to it when it's convenient for you. The underlying transport technology is no different from an RSS newsfeed, except that you listen to the feed rather than reading it. Click here for more infomration on Podcasting
Do I need special software to use this?
Yes - Metro Life Church’s podcasting feed is specifically designed with tags for iTunes v4.9 (free for apple and windows users). There are many RSS or Podcasting readers that offer the ability to work in a similar way to iTunes but they are unsupported by this site...
Do I have to have an iPod to use this service?
No, although you will find more benefit from this service with an iPod
Does this only work with iTunes?
No, there are several other programs (which are essentially RSS readers) that support the enclosure tags that deliver the messages directly to the machine. These are not, however, supported by this site nor the specific programming that is included for the pocasting feed with iTunes. We cannot ensure compatibility at this time...
