Your Hope Will Not Put You to Shame!

Good Morning, Metro.

I hope your week is starting off anchored in the great news that you are justified by faith in Jesus alone, and so you enjoy peace with God, a permanent position in grace, and a sure hope for the glory of God to be revealed!

Your week may be starting off with many cares, even trials. Sometimes the “stuff” of life has a way of making the provision and promises of God seem distant. How encouraging in the moments when we are challenged to keep our eyes on the glory to come (just like Pilgrim was challenged in Pilgrim’s Progress), God is eager to refresh our souls with the outpouring of his love to assure our hearts that all that we confront is not in vain. It is producing a stronger, deeper, and confident faith. We don’t work that up; it comes through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. I pray that moves your sensations this week! If you are in Christ, you are loved beyond your comprehension, and God delights to refresh you right down to your emotions. Or, as Disney/Pixar might say, God wants to meet you through the Holy Spirit this week in a way that reaches you “Inside/Out!” May your emotions be shaped by God’s love for you this week!

“This love is conveyed to our sensations by the Holy Spirit, who resides in every believer…what in the Old Covenant was external has been internalized in the New Covenant. And it is internal, subjective, yes, even emotional – sensation within the believer that God does indeed love us that gives assurance that our hope will not disappoint us.” - Douglas Moo
