Can I 'help' you?

Good Morning Metro! I hope you are very aware of the love of Christ and enjoying this fact; Jesus is in you! As we continued on in Colossians on Sunday morning I thought I would bring this reflection from Sam Storms back to our attention:

“The growth and maturity in Christ of every believer is, in a certain sense, the responsibility of every other believer in Christ. We must look not only to ourselves but to one another, passionately admonishing and wisely teaching so that we might all stand complete in Christ on that day.”  Sam Storms, The Hope of Glory, pg. 132

How-can-I-help-youHe was referring to Colossians 1:28-29. You and I each have a part to play in helping one another mature, or “grow up” in Jesus Christ. We have a privilege and responsibility to encourage one another, build one another up, and yes, warn one another. The goal of it all is that we grow in Him. And to think that on that future day when another brother or sister in Christ stands before the Lord, we will have played a small part in their growth in Jesus during their earthly life. That’s a vision worth building relationships for!

God bless your week and your loving investment into the lives of others!
