Ideas for Being Devoted to Prayer

pauls powerful prayer_wide_t_ntAfter Sunday's sermon, Eddie Needham was stirred up and wrote the following ideas for prayer. What are some practical ways we can devote ourselves to prayer?

(1) Wake up with your spouse and pray together for 30 minutes. You can invite pastor pillow from bedside baptist to join you.

(2) Come to MLC Sunday morning prayer at 9:00am once a month. It is somewhat ironic that a church our size only has 8-10 people praying for the service on Sunday morning.

(3) Pray daily at a time convenient for you.

(4) Pray on a daily basis using a prayer guide:

  • Monday - Immediate family
  • Tuesday - Local & National Government
  • Wednesday - Nothing but praise and worship, no requests, just thanking God
  • Thursday - Metro Life Church and its leaders
  • Friday - International church and other nations.
  • Saturday - Hit the highights of the week
  • Sunday - Pray for the service, pray explicitly for God's manifest presence - healing, revelation, teaching...more of Him. Listen for the Spirit then pray what He says to pray.

(5) Thought prayer - Pray for someone/event as God brings them to mind, multiple times a day.

(6) Prayer walks - Walk through local neighborhood weekly, 30-60 minutes, and pray for whatever God mentions.

(7) Prayer mode - Pray out loud. This forces the mind to think and the mouth to fashion the words. This is a simple way for our spirits to train our minds and bodies
