[Local Impact] Neighbor-to-Neighbor Follow Up: Vision for Casselberry
“And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying “Come over to Macedonia and help us.”
Acts 16:9
Have you ever thought, it would be nice if God would just make it this clear to us where he wanted us to go? I have. I mean, it just feels so spiritual, exciting, and if I was being completely honest (which I should be)…easy. Throughout my 10 years of being a Christian I have often wished God would just have an angel drop by and tell me what to do. But He doesn’t always speak to us in visions, does He?
Even so, this passage came to mind when I thought about our church’s recent response to the call for volunteers for Neighbor to Neighbor. We didn’t get a vision in the night, but we did hear real voices urging us to come. We heard a woman who had just lost her job while her husband is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s. We heard the widow who was being taken advantage of by her grandson. We heard the voices of the homeless, hungry and financially struggling crying out at the Christian Sharing Center. We heard the man who is jobless and just wants to provide for his family at the Christian Help Center. We heard the voices of real people in need, in our city, and you responded. You came to them. Well done Metro Life Church!
We didn’t get a vision in the night, but God spoke to us just the same, didn’t He? My question to Metro Life is do you still hear them urging us to come? Is God giving us a vision for Casselberry and Seminole County? If so, together let us continue to go to them.
