2025: Faithfulness - God’s Character, Our Fruitfulness

As we reflect on the incredible milestone of Metro Life Church’s 40th anniversary, we are grateful for God’s unchanging faithfulness and the fruitfulness that has marked our history. Over these four decades, we have witnessed His hand guiding, sustaining, and transforming countless lives through His love and grace. This anniversary is not just a celebration of time but a testament to the enduring faithfulness of God and the flourishing of His Spirit within our community.

The theme of our celebration, "Faithfulness: God’s Character, Our Fruitfulness," is rooted deeply in Scripture. Psalm 33:4 declares, “For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” We see the truth of this verse woven into the fabric of Metro Life Church and its history. God's character has remained steadfast through growth, challenge, and change.

Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” His faithfulness provides new mercies each day and ensures that His purposes for our church continue to unfold.

As recipients of God’s unending faithfulness, we are called to bear fruit that reflects His character. Galatians 5:22-23 outlines the fruit of the Spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” These qualities have been evident in the lives of our members and the ministry of Metro Life Church over the years.

From heartfelt, dynamic worship and teaching to community outreach and discipleship, the fruit of the Spirit has been a hallmark of our lives together. Each and every act of service, prayer, and transformed life is a testament to the Spirit’s work among us. We celebrate what God has done and continues to do as we abide in Him.

The Bible tells us to celebrate big moments to honor God and keep our faith strong for the future. In Joshua 4, they built a monument when the Israelites crossed the Jordan River. That was to remind future generations of how God provided for them.

Countries often build monuments to show their power, but Israel's monuments celebrated God's victories. And the most significant victory we celebrate today is what Jesus did for us through his life, death, and resurrection.

Metro Life Church's 40th anniversary is our time to build our "monuments-of-memories.” Let us thank God for his faithfulness and share our testimonies with others.

As we celebrate throughout 2025, let's do so with grateful hearts. We can thank God for our leaders, volunteers, and members who've worked hard to build a strong and loving community. Let's thank Him for His grace through our church and for every life changed. And let's thank Him for the chance to keep growing in faith and doing good things that honor Him and help others.

This anniversary is more than a single moment in time; it is a year-long celebration of God’s goodness and our shared commitment to His mission. We invite you to join us in honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking ahead to the future. Let us walk in faithfulness to God, confident that the same God who has been with us for these 40 years will lead us into a fruitful future.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
