Next Generation by Heather Mellichamp
At Metro Life Church we whole heartedly believe in the scripture, “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him.” MLC has been given the opportunity to come alongside hundreds of children through our Sunday morning Truth Quest and Bridge 46 classes as well as during our summer Winshape Camp week.
In Truth Quest children from 1yr thru 3rd grade are being presented with God-centered curriculum in an environment that encourages a relationship with Him, as revealed through His word. We want to inspire the children to love God with all their heart, growing their awareness of our need of a Savior and His plan of redemption, while learning how to share this good news with others.
Bridge 46 is a unique class structured to 4th thru 6th graders where they can begin to cultivate their individual gifts, talents, and hearts to become more independent in their personal relationship with God, while still being connected to the local church body. “So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. (Romans 12:5)
The first week of June every summer we host Winshape Camp for those in the community to join us on campus for an action-packed camp experience centered around the love of Jesus. WinShape Camps' mission is to glorify God by creating experiences that transform campers and families with the message of Jesus Christ.
“Jesus called them to Him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16) We believe that children are a blessing and we as their local church family have a calling and mission to lead them to the Lord. We do this by coming alongside their parents in practical, loving, and tangible ways. Offering parenting support through classes and workshops as well as one-on-one care and meals during major life events.
“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10). It is a privilege and an honor to be in a church community that understands the value of connection, care, and commitment to all in the body of Christ, even and especially the youngest and most precious.
