Easter Sunday participation: The Flowering of the Cross
Dear Metro Family,
We’d like to introduce you to celebrating Christ’s Resurrection by Flowering the Cross. At the beginning of the Easter morning service, you will see a wire-covered, wooden cross at the front.
We invite you to cut flowers from your yard (azaleas, irises, etc…) or purchase flowers and bring them to church Easter morning.
During the worship time, you’ll be invited to come to the front and place your flowers in the wire or around the foot of the cross.
Symbolically, the old rugged cross is transformed with life and beauty before our eyes. Children and adults alike will see the cross in a new way! Come and be blessed with His Presence.
Our thanks to Eddie Needham for making this a part of our service and celebration together!
