Vacation Bible School 2015: Bible Blast to the Past Recap

Good morning parents!

What a great week we had together in God's Word considering His love and discovering ways we can share that love with others.  We wanted to provide this as a recap of our time, both what we learned as well as a pek behind the scenes at everything that happened throughout the week.  Thank you for allowing your family to participate with us, we're grateful for the time we had together and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

1 John 4:16 reminds us that we can count on God’s love because God is love!

"we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love"

IncredibleDay 1 – God’s Love is INCREDIBLE

Bible Memory: Psalm 86:5

On our first day we learned that God’s love is incredible. God heard the cries of His people Israel and sent an unlikely hero named Moses. God hears us; He is with us and has a plan to save us. God’s love is Incredible

FaithfulDay 2 – God’s Love is Faithful

Bible Memory: Lamentations 3:22-23

On our second day we learned that God’s love is Faithful when God rescued Rahab, a true friend of God’s servants. Rahab kept her word and so did God. Not only did He save Rahab, but also chose her as an ancestor of the Messiah, who would save the whole world. To her and to us, God’s love is Faithful!

InvincibleDay 3 – God’s Love is INVINCIBLE

Bible Memory: 1 John 4:18

On our third day we learned how God strengthened David, a shepherd boy. David took five stones into battle, but he would only need one. He ran toward Goliath and slung a stone into the air, into the warrior Goliath’s forehead. Then battle was over. The battle was won. The battle was God’s.

UnconditionalDay 4 – God’s Love is UNCONDITIONAL

Bible Memory: Romans 5:8

On the fourth day we learned how God’s Song forgave a woman with a sinful past through His unconditional love. We also learned that not long after this Jesus would forgive those who crucified Him as well. Through His live, death and resurrection, He would forgive all who seek Him. No matter who we are or what we’ve done, forgiveness is free, forgiveness is ours.

RealDay 5 – God’s Love Is REAL

Bible Memory: Galatians 5:13

Lastly we learned that God’s love is real when God answers the church’s prayers and frees Peter. Chains fell off him while he was in Prison and he followed an angel through the prison gate to freedom – It was a miracle! Peter left quickly but not before the church got the message that it would share throughout all time; God’s love is real and it changes everything!

We hope that this helps encourage your own faith as you talk with your children about the Love God has for us.  But we don't want to stop there, we wanted you to be able to see a litle of what all happened while we were together so we put this recap video together for you as well... enjoy!
