Dear parents,

As Claire and I have stepped into leading the Alive Youth Ministry, we want to make sure that we thank you for the trust and support that we receive from you as we partner together. We don’t take that for granted, and we aren’t taking this responsibility lightly. We want to thank you for your encouraging words, prayers, and for partnering with us in discipling your teens. If we’re honest, WE’RE the ones partnering with you as you disciple your teens. We want each and every teen to have a genuine relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that they would learn to love Him and how to walk in the ways that He has commanded us in scripture.

Whisper Mountain - Alive Camp 2023

July 24 through July 28, 2023

A huge aspect of youth ministry that we want you to consider this year is our annual summer camp. This year we’ve chosen to attend Whisper Mountain up in Robbinsville, NC. This is a 5-day, 4-night camp away from the busyness and distractions of life to help teens slow down and focus on Jesus. The theme of this year’s camp will be What It Means to Be in Christ. We pray that teens will not only walk away from this camp feeling more envisioned for and in love with Jesus, but also that some teens will come into relationship with Him for the first time. Please pray for this!

That being said, we know this year’s camp is more expensive than in past years. We chose this camp specifically because of the testimonies of some of the Alive leaders that have worked there in the past, and the reputation the camp has. We truly want this to be a wonderful memory of every teen freshly encountering Jesus for years to come, but that can’t happen if they don’t attend. In order to help offset the costs, we have a number of fundraising opportunities that will be coming up, which are listed below. Some of these fundraisers should be able to significantly offset the cost of camp, so please don’t wait to sign up for them.

Please hear us when we say that we want each and every teen to have an opportunity to attend camp this year, and we're going to make every opportunity to make that happen. That being said, we also want to make you aware that even if you don't have a teen to send to camp, you can still directly be a part of this.

First of all church, please pray for the teens and the leaders going to this camp. We desperately need your prayers, specifically for safety and that every teen and leader would encounter the Living God freshly.

Second, if you have the ability to, you can actually partially or fully sponsor a teen to attend camp. We've had members do this in the past, and we would love for you to consider this opportunity if that is on your heart. No amount is too small, and we are so grateful for any donation.
