Change forever the way you look at the Lord’s Supper! Join us for a Passover Seder meal and experience the Hebrew roots of communion with all your senses. Jesus told His disciples, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer” and then gave new significance to one cup and unleavened bread as a remembrance of Himself. The New Testament provides only excerpts from this “Last Supper.” Come taste, see and hear “the rest of the story” — the Passover context of Christ’s memorial and learn how Passover developed over time.

NOTE: The dinner portion of the Passover celebration is necessarily delayed because most of the ceremony happens before the serving of the meal. You might consider bringing a light snack to eat on your way to the church if this is an issue.

CHILDREN: Bring the children! There will be activities and participation for them, because a key emphasis of the Seder is to pass on faith and history to the next generation. Be advised that a Seder is a somewhat lengthy dinner celebration. Elementary-age children are encouraged to come with parental discretion as to their ability to sit and listen for about 45 minutes before dinner and their willingness to participate when directed and try unusual customs and foods. This will be a precious memory particularly for baptized children who are receiving communion, and a lesson for those being prepared to receive these sacraments.

DRESS: Traditionally, slightly dressy attire is appropriate for a Seder. But if you have to come straight from work in your scrubs, just come!
