Fasting For Lent

February 14, 2018 to April 1, 2018

All Day

Perhaps you grew up in a church tradition that followed a liturgical calendar.  If you did then you know it is the season of Lent!  Lent is the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter.  One of the most common practices during Lent is fasting.  Fasting is a purposeful giving up of something to draw near to God.

FASTING AND PRAYER is getting close and intimate with God so that He can pour out His Spirit in power and love.  It’s humbling ourselves to God so He can give us a new heart. Even by skipping one meal, the flesh will put up a huge fit!  Fasting is one of the healthiest things for our bodies and our souls as well! We set ourselves apart for the Lord to meet with Him instead of eating.  Going without food is a way of fasting and praying.  You may do a Daniel fast, or skip a meal or two a day.  Juice fasting is another option.  Ask the Lord and I promise you He will guide you and give you His strength.

SET APART FOR GOD’S GLORY THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT:  Use this time of fasting and praying to be completely free from the things of the world, flesh, and devil, and be filled with God’s word, love, and power.  Avoid the distractions of media and social media. Make this a time of you and God.  Use your spare time in the word and prayer.

What will you be doing most through this time of fasting and praying?  Praising Him, giving thanks in everything, praying powerful righteous prayers, humbling yourself, and mediating and confessing the word. GETTING INTO HIS PRESENCE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF PRAYER

We will be praying daily for each one of you many powerful righteous prayers of faith and excited to hear the testimonies of God’s goodness poured out on you.  If you have any specific prayer requests please email us at
