"Many are My jewels scattered across this world.... but before they are perfected they must endure much at My hand.
I lift them from the dirt, I sift them, I wash them. I identify them, I call them by name. In so doing, I proclaim that they are of value.
At this point, they have little or no beauty. Value, but no beauty that men would be drawn to them... that women should desire them. But I see their beauty...
Therefore, I carefully examine these rough stones. I determine their potential...I begin to cut and size them. They are not clay that can be molded or wood that can be carved. They are stone...formed by intense pressure and heat.
To bring forth their beauty, I pick up My chisel and mallet...To bring forth their beauty they must be broken. I pick up My grinder and begin to smooth their rough edges. To bring forth their beauty they must be smoothed. I pick up My jeweler's rouge and begin to polish. As I hold them in My hand they begin to sparkle...
Now, they are both beautiful and valuable, but of little use. They need a proper setting. Therefore, I join them to silver...I set them in gold. I fashion rings, necklaces, bracelets, and crowns. I create brooches, and stickpins, and wrist watches. They make beautiful every person they touch for they are Mine and they reflect My glory...."
And so it is in the Kingdom.
He lifts us from the dirt, He sifts us. He washes us in His blood and gives us identity in Him. He calls us by His name. He picks up His chisel and mallet and begins to conform us to the image of His Son. He smoothes and polishes us so that we reflect His glory...
Fitting each of us into the perfect setting to accomplish His will, He places us exactly where we can bring Light into the darkness that surrounds us. We then become His Light-Bearers...His gifts to a lost and dying world.
"Then those who feared the Lord talked often to one another; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshipfully feared the Lord and thought on His name. And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels ( My special possession, My peculiar treasure)...... " Malachi 3:16-17 (Amplified Bible)
