“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:14-16

As a local church, Metro Life is a light in our community. People have seen our good works, and many have given glory to God.

EH24LogoISOOn March 23rd, we have an opportunity to shine even brighter alongside 6 other local churches in the heart of our city. Casselberry has asked if we would organize an Easter Egg Hunt for the city. Like our recent Funtoberfest event, we expect thousands of people to attend. We plan on having bounce houses, egg hunts, candy for the kids, and other family-centered fun. But we also plan on having meaningful gospel moments like a Jesus story time for the kids, devotionals from local pastors, and invitations to our holy week services.

The event is from 10-12 pm on Saturday, March 23rd at Lake Concord Park in Casselberry. Volunteers who are willing to help setup will be asked to come at 8 am. All volunteers will be required to participate in a volunteer meeting at 9 am.

RCPopUp_Graphic_IG1This event also has a special sponsor. Winshape will be at the event and running what they call “The Road Show”. This event is like a mini version of the week-long camp that Metro Life will be hosting on June 3rd-8th. Winshape will be using this opportunity to invite families in our community to attend the camp where Jesus will be faithfully proclaimed all week long!

We believe that the intentionality of sharing our faith alongside providing a fun family-centered event with excellence will bear fruit in the weeks and months to come. But we need your help big time to make this happen! There are four ways you can make a huge difference:

  1. Pray: We can work hard at a lot of things but if God is not behind it, we are wasting our time. Will you take time, even now at this moment, to pray for this event. Ask God to transform lives, strengthen families, draw the unchurched into our local churches, and for his favor upon all who volunteer and attend.
  2. Candy: These next two requests can seem so trivial and silly, but I can assure you, they matter. We want to give out generous bags of candy to the children that attend this event. This isn’t some sort of sugar bribe. It’s a small, tangible way we can tell families in the community that we love them and their children. We will be collecting candy in the lobby until the event. Please consider donating large bags of wrapped, non-chocolate candy.
  3. Plastic Eggs: We plan on having three separate fields for different age groups. This means we need a lot of plastic eggs. Alongside the candy, we are collecting plastic eggs in the lobby in the weeks leading up to the event. Please bring as many plastic eggs as you can find!
  4. Volunteer: Lastly, we need A LOT of volunteers. In the past we have averaged 150+ volunteers between the churches at events like this one. Metro Life Church has always shown up big! Can you consider signing up to serve at this event? Don’t disqualify yourself, we could use help with crafts, activities, bounce houses, handing out candy, welcoming people as they enter the park and many other areas. Please signup today so we know how to plan in the coming weeks!
