If you have been around the church for some time, you may recall the many retreat and conference contexts that we have enjoyed together. Anyone has participated with these or served with them can testify of the incredible work of God in their life. There’s something that happens when we pull away for a time and give attention to the Lord, to his Word, to what his Spirit wants to do in our lives and this happens in the context of our relationships with one another.

We have utilized conferences in this way for so long as a church and we want to do it yet again. Coming up October 12-14 is the Thrive Retreat. The focus is on how the choices we make reflect the priority that Jesus is to each and every one of us. It is going to be an invaluable time; downloading the messages after the fact will not do justice to what the Lord wants to do when we gather. This retreat is for young adults who are single and married who want to grow deeper in their relationship with God and one another. But in a broader sense, this retreat has in view those who would also be interested in serving the young people to see this retreat have its intended effect. I am praying that the Lord would stir the hearts of many in our church who want to be actively engaged in what God is doing among the young adults and would love to come to the conference for the purpose of serving.
