The Impact of Our Local Mission: Egg Hunt Recap 2024

Local Mission Updated

Hey, Church Family!

It's hard to believe that the Casselberry Easter Egg Hunt was nearly two weeks ago. You may feel like it was a small thing, just a silly event you contributed to, but that couldn't be farther from the truth! Multiple churches serving under the name of Christ and partnering with the city and local businesses is a testament to the power of Christ's unifying gospel all by itself. Still, there are a few other reasons I want to share with you why this event mattered in light of eternity:

  • We loved children and invited them to be near to Jesus (Matthew 19:14)
  • Our prayer tent made the gospel accessible to those who otherwise would not pursue it (Mark 16:15)
  • We partnered with our city, showing that we, as churches, care about what happens here (Jeremiah 29:7)
  • We displayed gospel-driven generosity, using our time and money to serve strangers with no benefit to ourselves (Hebrews 13:2,16)
  • Everyone who attended was invited to join any of the participating churches for Easter in the coming week (Matthew 28:19-20)

Take a moment and watch this video one more time. Look at the joy on the kids' faces. Listen for the appreciation from parents. See a cross on display in a park in our city's center. Catch someone noticing that churches have come together in the name of Jesus.

That event mattered. Thank you.

I am still in awe of how amazing our Easter Egg Hunt event was. This event was a huge success, from the ease of setup to the excitement of serving kids and families to the smooth cleanup. And it would not have been possible without your incredible hearts and hands to serve.

But I want to emphasize one particular way you made this event happen: Your financial contribution was incredibly impactful. Because of your giving through tithes and gifts, we could hand out 1,700 bags of candy, "hide" 50,000 eggs and serve an estimated 2,500 people from our community. We added up the cost of all the candy donated and found that you had given away over $5,800 worth of candy to our community! Think of the economic stimulus this will provide to local dentists!

Again, I cannot emphasize enough how thankful I am for your time, money, and prayers to make the Easter Egg Hunt not only happen but happen with such quality and joy. Thank you for making it such an honor and privilege to serve alongside you in our great commission.

In Christ,

Shane
