The past four months the Book of Colossians has lifted our eyes to behold the unmatched Christ. Jesus is such a powerful, wise and sovereign Savior.

I hope your week is off to a grace filled start. I had a number of wonderful interactions after the service on Sunday about relationships. They were encouraging conversations. Isn't it refreshing to know some of the backstories on the people in Scripture, and to know that they had to work through so many of the same dynamics as we do when it comes to building relationships with one another? Relationships are hard work! Let's reflect on what R. Kent Hughes said again:

We wanted to share a couple of the quotes from the sermon as well as some thoughts for application, the audio will be online for you to review as well... Seize the Day today to Share Jesus Christ Metro Life Church!

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." (Colossians 4:2). Prayer is sweet communion with God our Father based on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Jesus has given us access to come boldly to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). And the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness with groanings to deep for words (Romans 8:26). The way to God is wide open! And yet, life is a battle. We are called to use the access we have to God to find help in times of need. It would be foolish for us to fight this battle alone when God freely avails himself. And yet that is what we do when we neglect to pray.

Colossians 3:18-21 contain rapid fire commands for wives, husbands, children and fathers. But in context, these commands have everything to do with Jesus Christ being supreme over all things.

On Sunday we considered these words from Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly..." In order that we might live a life glorifying to the God who saved us, we are called both individually and as a church to have the word dwelling in us richly. We glorify God as we live out of this abundance.

Our vision is that Casselberry and beyond would see a display of the glory of God through us; through how we live, how we love, how we serve, how we give, how we hope, how we pray, how we do all that we do, whether eating or drinking or playing or anything else…that we would be a display of the glory of God that is powerful to draw others to God’s glorious light!

Good Morning, Metro! So where is that place where you keep your bills that need to be paid? Some of ours are auto pay, but some still go the old fashioned way of the mailbox. Those bills are in the kitchen. I write a check and seal the envelope but sure enough, about 30 days later they show up again!

"...that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery..." Colossians 2:2

Good Morning Metro! I hope you are very aware of the love of Christ and enjoying this fact; Jesus is in you! As we continued on in Colossians on Sunday morning I thought I would bring this reflection from Sam Storms back to our attention:
